The realization of Pocket 1400, emphasizes the engagement of SR Technology in the design of amplification systems following the actual demands of the market. In this product the company has succeeded in concentrating all design efforts in characteristics such as portability, high power and excellent sound quality.
The system follows the classical style of Pocket line: one active subwoofer 800W RMS with 15" speaker and two passive satellites 300W RMS each with 8" speaker + 1" horn. Inside the subwoofer are contained all the amplifiers: one digital Bang&Olufsen for the subwoofer and 2 MOSFET amplifiers for the satellites. The digital bass amplifier is connected also to an active output for an optional passive subwoofer. Connecting the passive subwoofer, the power of the bass ampifier is 600 + 600 W RMS and the total power of system becomes 2000W RMS.
Two new special features on this system are: the tube simulation in the satellite circuitry and the double sound of the subwoofer.
Thanks to the SR engineers experience in the vacuum tube design, the MOSFET amplifiers for the satellites have been made with second harmonic distortion, typical of tubes. The two harmonics (in octave) make the sound "warm and rich", nice to listen to. This is the big difference with the classical transistor amplifier, that generates a third harmonic (in fifth), producing a sound colder and unpleasant to listen to.
The second special feature (really new in this field) is the double sound of the subwoofer. On the backpanel there is a switch that commutates the subwoofer sound from BASS (sound dry and aggressive, tipical of disco music) to SUB (sound warm and deep, for melodic music and rock).
All the connections and controls are on the backpanel of the subwoofer: stereo Inputs and Link Out (XLR); double volume control (satellites + bass); ground lift switch; bass-sub switch; 3 active outputs for 2 satellites and the passive sub.
Light weight and very compact sizes: Active Subwoofer cm 44x52xh46 kg 27. Satellites cm 24,5x28xh39 kg 10. Passve Sub: cm 44x43xh46 kg 17. It's possible to load the whole system of 2000W in a normal car!
Finishing available are BLK (rough black lacquered) and MOQ (black carpet).
